Sapatham, the latest political drama movie directed by sensational director Ram Gopal Varma, has recently hit the audiences. And let's see how this movie is in full review.
Story:
The swearing-in ceremony will take place after the 2019 elections in Andhra Pradesh. Jagan Mohan Reddy (Ajmal Amir) wins that election and takes oath as Chief Minister. Facing defeat in that election, Chandrababu Naidu (Dhananjay Prabhune) looks to ally with Pawan Kalyan (Chintu) to challenge Jagan in the upcoming 2024 elections. While this article goes on to show the critical political moves that take place in those five years.
Plus Points:
Especially in Saphatham movie, RGV made the movie by taking many actresses in the respective roles showing that all the characters are real. Dhananjay Prabhune as Chandrababu, Ajmal as Jagan, Pawan Kalyan as Chintu impressed in their respective roles. Similarly, Manasa Radhakrishnan's performance as Jagan's wife YS Bharti is also good. As for the story, the performances of the actors and their dialogues are good according to the story. The rest of the characters are also okay.
Minus Points:
Although the acting of the characters is good, RGV could not make it attractive as the main point is short. Especially, the characters were taken satirically and the drama was also not developed. The screenplay lacks grip and as a result the story fails to engage. Coupled with the subpar sound design and pleasant musical score, even the song sung by RGV himself gives the movie a nonchalant feel. The film also has flaws in terms of composition of the scenes as the narrative seems forced and the film is shot at a fast pace.
Technical Department:
Director RGV fails to bring his vision to life through this story and the film plods along in disinterest with incoherent storytelling and uninspired cinematography. Musically it fails to set the desired tone and editing wise some scenes make the story awkward in both parts of the movie.
Verdict:
Overall, Sapatham movie directed by RGV is a silly political drama. And so it goes hopelessly. Although the performances of the actors are okay, the film's incoherent narrative and technical flaws reduce its impact. And this week, instead of this, the audience can select another movie.
