Mahindra & Mahindra has silently introduced a new Stealth Black color to its Thar lifestyle off-road SUV model lineup, which is likely to be a new name for the old Napoli Black shade. Currently, the Mahindra Thar comes in five paint schemes – Deep Grey, Red Rage, Everest White, Stealth Black, and Desert Fury. A similar color renaming practice has been implemented with the Mahindra Scorpio Classic. This SUV is available in four exterior colors – Molten Red Rage, Everest White, Galaxy Grey, and Stealth Black.
Prices of the Thar SUV start from Rs 11.25 lakh for the base variant and go up to Rs 17.60 lakh for the fully-loaded top-end trim. The Mahindra Scorpio Classic SUV model lineup is spread across four variants – S, S 9-Seater, S 11-seater, and S 11-seater 7CC – priced at Rs 13.59 lakh, Rs 13.84 lakh, Rs 17.35 lakh, and Rs 17.35 lakh, respectively. All mentioned prices are ex-showroom.
In other updates, Mahindra & Mahindra is gearing up to launch the 5-door Thar, which is likely to make its first public appearance on 15th August 2024. Its production-ready version is expected to be named ‘Mahindra Thar Armada’. Compared to its 3-door version, the 5-door Mahindra Thar will have a different appearance and will feature more onboard features.
Spy images confirm that the lifestyle off-road SUV will have a dual-tone dashboard with an integrated dual digital screen setup (one for the infotainment and one for the instrument functionalities). There will also be a single-pane sunroof, front and rear center armrests, leatherette seat upholstery, rear AC vents, rear wheel disc brakes, push-button start, and more.
The 5-door Mahindra Thar will borrow its suspension setup and engine from the Scorpio N. This means the SUV will come with the 2.0L turbo petrol engine (203bhp with 370Nm/380Nm) and 2.2L turbo diesel engine (130bhp with 300Nm and 138bhp with 370Nm/400Nm) options. Both 2WD and 4WD systems will also be on offer.
