‘My second home’: Sachin Tendulkar turns nostalgic as Wankhede Stadium turns 50 | Cricket News

NEW DELHI: From making his Mumbai debut aged 10 to 2011 World Cup triumph to bidding adieu to the game, Sachin Tendulkar‘s most precious cricketing moments unravelled at the iconic Wankhede Stadium.
The stadium, which has been an integral part of the rich Indian cricketing history and has been a ‘second home’ for the Little Master, on Sunday turned 50.
With the stadium holding a special place in the heart of Sachin, the legend took to social media, sharing his emotional Wankhede connect.

Built in 1974, the Wankhede Stadium staged its first Test in the 1974-75 season — from January 23-29, 1975 — when West Indies toured India.
The Wankhede Stadium has hosted the Ranji final on 12 occasions, including the ongoing Mumbai vs Vidarbha clash.
The season also marks the 89th edition of the Ranji Trophy.
