Agartala March 16: Programs like vaccination drives in communities, schools and healthcare centres along with conduct of awareness campaigns through media, television and other platforms will help people understand the value of vaccination, said Tripura Governor Indra Sena Reddy Nallu.
The Governor inaugurated National Vaccination Day 2024 at Raj Bhavan on Saturday. The event was organized under the initiative of Department of Health and Family Welfare, Tripura.
Speaking about the importance of vaccination, the Governor said, “Many people would have lost their lives because of diseases like polio etc. if vaccination was not introduced”.
“At present, health workers are working tirelessly throughout the year to protect the health of common people. Even the government has given utmost importance to vaccination”, he said.
The Governor later administered polio doses to the children on the occasion.
West Tripura District Chief Health Officer Dr Ranjan Biswas, Deputy Secretary to the Governor Ratan Bhowmik, District Immunization Officer Dr Ishita Guha, Raj Bhavan in-charge Health Officer Dr Amlan Datta among others remained present at the program.
