3 Indians Caught Jumping Train in Illegal US Entry

In the recent movie “Dunki,” featuring Shah Rukh Khan, we saw how young people from Punjab, Gujarat, and Haryana, are giving up on traditional dreams like joining the Army or becoming a doctor.

Instead, they are taking dangerous and illegal routes to the US for a better life. Recently, an incident echoed this risky journey.

Four people, including two Indian men and a woman, got arrested for trying to enter the US illegally by jumping from a moving freight train.

In Buffalo, NY, on March 12, Border Patrol agents saw them jump off the train on the International Railroad Bridge. The men ran off, leaving the injured woman behind. They were caught soon after.

The woman received first aid from Erie County Sheriff’s deputies and CBP officers and then was taken to a local medical center by ambulance.

At the Buffalo Station, agents found out the woman and two men were from India, while the third man was from the Dominican Republic. All four were undocumented non-citizens.

The three men are being processed for deportation and are detained at Batavia Federal Detention Facility. They face charges under the Immigration and Nationality Act.

Meanwhile, the woman remains at the medical center for further treatment.
