There are as many as 8 films of Ajay Devgn, which are within that 100-107 crores range, and Shaitaan is now right up there.
In just 10 days, Ajay Devgn’s Shaitaan has entered the 100 Crore Club. The feat was accomplished on the second Sunday of the film, which has been doing quite well ever since its release and has now also crossed the 100 crore mark in a really quick time. The film exceeded expectations on its opening day, then went on to gain some very good momentum over the weekend, and then held quite strongly during the weekdays before picking pace all over again in the second weekend.
Ever since the advent of the 100 Crore Club, Ajay Devgn has enjoyed 12 centuries to his name already and now Shaitaan is his 13th in the list. This is what the lifetime collections of his top grosser look like:
- Tanhaji – The Unsung Warrior – 280 crores
- Drishyam 2 – 241 crores
- Golmaal Again – 205.70 crores
- Total Dhamaal – 154.23 crores
- Singham Returns – 140 crores
- Satan – 106.84 crores*
- Golmaal 3 – 106 crores
- Son of Sardaar – 105 crores
- Raid – 103.07 crores
- De de love de – 103.50 crores
- Bol Bachchan – 103 crores
- Singham – 100.30 crores
- Shivaay – 100.30 crores
As can be seen, there are as many as 8 films of Ajay Devgn, which are within that 100-107 crores range, and Shaitaan is now right up there in 10 days flat. However, the next best in line is Singham Returns at 140 crores. By the look of things, Singham Returns would be crossed as well, and with Total Dhamaal, it would be touch and go.
Note: RRR, Sooryavanshi, and Gangubai Kathiawadi had all got past the 100 crores mark as well, but Ajay Devgn had more of a cameo in each of these films.
