Michael Rosenbaum, a star of Smallville, has hinted at the possibility of a potential series revival of the Superman TV show. The show, which ended its run on The CW 15 years ago, was created by Tom Welling and played by Lex Luthor.
In an interview with Screen Rant, Rosenbaum discussed the idea of an animated sequel with Welling, stating that it is a great idea but needs to happen at the right time. He believes that Smallville’s potential revival could be a significant step forward in the franchise’s history.
An animated follow-up to the well-liked DC comic series Smallville would be advantageous, since it may ease financial constraints and provide more plotlines and action. Compared to a live-action format, this would also make it simpler for performers to voice their roles.
In addition, the programme might translate the canonical season 11 comic series to The CW drama, giving writers the freedom to develop their own narratives beyond the conclusion of the season 11 storyline. A multi-season animated sequel might be possible given the expanding DC Universe.
Although a live-action comeback would be a huge win for the fans, an animated series is more likely to be approved, growing DC’s library of animated films and possibly opening the door for actors to play their roles again in the future.
