Volkswagen Taigun GT Plus Sport, GT Line Revealed

In order to improve sales, Volkswagen has added two new trim levels to the Taigun range. The company has introduced the new Taigun GT Plus Sport variant with the 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine and the Taigun GT Line with the 1.0-litre turbo petrol engine. Both variants have received several visual changes to both interior and exterior.

This variant comes with several visual enhancements in the form of smoked LED headlamps, Carbon Steel Grey roof and red GT branding on the grille, fender and rear profile. It lso has dark chrome door handles and red brake calipers. Instead of chrome treatment, VW has added gloss black finish to the front grille, diffuser, ORVMs and alloy wheels.

The Taigun GT Plus Sport variant comes with all-black interior scheme. It features black leatherette upholstery with red stitching, black headliner and gloss black inserts on the dashboard. The GT Logo is embossed on the front seats. The contrasting red stitching is also added to the steering wheel.

This model also comes with gloss black finish on several parts including front grille, fender badges, diffuser, alloys and wing mirrors. However, this variant misses out on the red brake calipers and red GT badge on the grille. The company has added a GT Line badge on the doors.

Specifications

The GT Plus Sport is powered by a 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder turbo petrol engine that produces 150hp and 250Nm of torque. Transmission choices include a 6-speed manual and a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic. The GT Line variant gets the 1.0-litre 3-cylinder turbo-petrol engine that churns out 115hp and 178Nm of torque. This engine can be paired to either a 6-speed manual gearbox or a 6-speed torque convertor automatic.

VW Taigun GT Plus Sport

The VW Taigun GT Plus Sport will be the top-spec variant and will be positioned against the Hyundai Creta N Line and Kia Seltos X Line. Interested buyers can book the new Taigun variants online or at authorised dealerships.
