Senior Director Gunasekhar has been working on Mythological Subjects for quite a while now. He scored a decent success with Rudhramadevi in 2015. After that he came back after three years with Samantha’s Shaakuntalam.
But that film has been rejected mercilessly by the audience.
The audience has become unapologetic after watching his VFX standards in Rajamouli’s films and it is not easy to achieve that standards with the kind of budgets that will be available to Gunasekhar’s market today.
But then, the senior director is still banking on Mythological subjects only.
He is working on two subjects – Gangavataranam (The Story of Bhageeratha) and Bhakta Prahlada.
He registered three titles for these two subjects – Gangavataranam, Bhageeratha, and Bhakta Prahlada.
We do not know which of these projects will go on floors first.
Keeping aside everything, Gunasekhar’s sincerity is clearly visible in delivering mythology to millennials. Let us see if he bags a hit this time!
