The TDP leadership is finalizing its candidate for the Darshi Assembly constituency, along with candidates for other constituencies in the state.
Following discussions between TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu and Janasena chief Pawan Kalyan in Hyderabad, the process of finalizing candidates has intensified.
Out of the 16 assembly candidates yet to be announced in the state, candidates for Darshi and Chirala in the combined Prakasam district are among them.
One of the names being considered for the Darshi constituency is Damachrala Satya, the TDP executive secretary of the district.
Satya, who currently serves as the Uttarandhra district coordinator, was successful in handling responsibilities during the Yuvagalam padayatra, particularly in troubled constituencies.
The leadership has observed his performance and is considering him for candidacy in Darshi.
In addition, the party is inclined towards fielding a BC candidate from Chirala, with current in-charge MM Kondaiah being a potential candidate.
However, there is also a proposal for a woman from the handloom community in Guntur district. The decision on candidates for both Darshi and Chirala is expected to be announced soon.
Meanwhile, MP Magunta Srinivasula Reddy has announced that his son, Magunta Raghava Reddy, will contest from the Ongole MP seat.
However, there are considerations regarding who is the better candidate between father and son, especially in light of recent events across the country on liquor scam.
