Senior BRS leader and Rajya Sabha Keshava Rao is all set to switch to the ruling Congress party. Reportedly, he, along with his daughter Gadwal Vijaya Lakshmi, will join the Congress party on March 30.
Reports have been circulating in the media for the last few days regarding KK and his daughter’s shift into Congress. Vijaya Lakshmi is the current Mayor of Hyderabad.
This would be a big blow for BRS. Already, many prominent leaders are leaving the party, and KK’s exit would hurt more. It is also heard that a few other GHMC corporators are planning to shift to Congress along with Vijaya Lakshmi. This would strengthen Congress in the Greater Hyderabad region.
It is heard that KK is currently in a meeting with the BRS chief K. Chandrashekhar Rao. Sources say that only KK and his daughter have joined BRS, as of now.
Anyway, KK had been clever and smart in his political career. He has been switching parties as his comfort and holding pivotal posts everywhere.
He had been serving the Congress Party and held key positions when it was ruling the erstwhile Andhra Pradesh. When the state was bifurcated and BRS came into power, he switched to this party and held key positions for the last 10 years.
Now, in less than six months of Congress assuming power in Telangana, he chose to shift back to his old party.
