Tata Motors has silently rejigged the Nexon line-up by introducing five new AMT variants (three petrol & two diesel) of the SUV in the Indian market. With this re-shuffle, Tata Nexon petrol AMT price starts at Rs 10 lakh (ex-showroom, Mumbai) for the new Smart+ base grade, while the diesel AMT range now begins at Rs 11.80 lakh (ex-showroom, Mumbai) for the Pure derivative. The 2023 Nexon petrol AMT was launched at Rs 11.70 lakh and diesel AMT at Rs 13 lakh as both were based on the Creative mid-spec trim.
The entry-level variant of Nexon petrol AMT is based on Smart+ grade while the diesel AMT is based on Pure trim. Tata Nexon petrol AMT Smart+ is nearly Rs 1.70 lakh cheaper than the Creative mid-level grade. As for features, the entry-level Smart+ (priced at Rs 10 lakh) variant comes equipped with a myriad of bells and whistles in the form of electrically adjustable wing mirrors, LED DRLs, drive modes, 6-airbags, ESC, and 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.

As for the Pure trim (priced at Rs 10.50 lakh for petrol and Rs 11.80 lakh for diesel), it gets added features such as full LED headlamp units, rear AC vents, 4-inch digital instrument cluster, and touch-based AC controls. Last but not the least, the Pure S trim (priced at Rs 11 lakh for petrol and Rs 12.30 lakh for diesel) is packed with a couple more additional features like Sunroof, Auto headlamps and wipers.
Mechanically, the petrol variants of the Nexon are powered by a 1.2L turbocharged engine which churns out 118 bhp and 170 Nm while coupled with a 6-speed AMT gearbox. The other transmission choices in the petrol fuel trim are a 5-speed manual, 6-speed manual and a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic with paddle shifters. As for the diesel variants, they derive power from a 1.5L unit which returns 113 bhp and 260 Nm while one can choose between a 6-speed manual and 6-speed AMT unit.
