Senseless Criticism Over Allu Arjun’s Pushpa 3

Alu Arjun’s Pushpa turned out to be a nationwide sensation after its release on the pan-India level. The reception to the original Telugu version in the Telugu states wasn’t encouraging initially but as the North audience embraced Allu Arjun’s character and his mannerisms, the Telugu audience too started hailing the film.

Allu Arjun winning the National Award for Best Actor also made the film even more popular.

The film’s much-hyped sequel Pushpa: The Rule is going to be released this year and there are humongous expectations from the film content-wise and also box office-wise.

Rumors are rife that Allu Arjun and director Sukumar are already mulling over Pushpa 3. Reportedly, Pushpa 2 will conclude with an open-ended narrative, paving the way for a potential third installment, Pushpa: The Roar, once Sukumar fulfills his commitments with Ram Charan.

Pushpa 2 is anticipated to wrap up production by June 2024, following which both Alu Arjun and Sukumar will shift their focus to their respective upcoming projects in the final quarter of the year.

However, some fans express concern that Allu Arjun might be overly fixated on the Pushpa character. After investing four years of his prime career into this role, they yearn to see him explore different roles and projects beyond the Pushpa saga. They feel the franchise should end with the second part.

As of now, these are only speculations, Pushpa 3 might or might not happen. It all depends on Pushpa 2’s fate. Even if it happens, Allu Arjun would complete Atlee’s film and Trivikram’s film first before coming back to the Pushpa franchise.

However, continuing the Pushpa series isn’t a bad idea. It’s the role that brought Allu Arjun nationwide fame and became a part of Indian pop culture. It’s natural for him to want to capitalize on its popularity.

Ram Charan and NTR didn’t get such popularity after RRR as Allu Arjun got with Pushpa. Ram Charan and NTR’s next films after RRR don’t have that craze on the pan-India level that Allu Arjun’s Pushpa 2 has.

Pushpa has become synonymous with Allu Arjun and it would be a masterstroke if Sukumar and Allu Arjun want to take the character forward.

But as said earlier, it all depends on Pushpa 2’s fate at the box office.
