Suzuki Motorcycle India has launched the much-awaited Suzuki V-Strom 800DE adventure motorcycle at an introductory price tag of Rs 10.30 lakh. It is available in 3 colors – Champion Yellow No.2, Glass Mat Mechanical Gray and Glass Sparkle Black. The new motorcycle is now available for bookings.
Powering the new Suzuki V-Strom 800DE ADV is a new liquid-cooled, 776cc, 270-crank parallel-twin engine that is coupled to a 6-speed gearbox. This engine is capable of producing 84.3bhp and 78Nm of torque. It also comes with a bidirectional quickshifter as standard.
The Suzuki V-Strom 800DE is based on the same steel frame that underpins the new GSX naked sibling. However, Suzuki engineers have lengthened the subframe and it is now tougher to carry extra load of a pillion as well as luggage. The V-Strom 800 DE features the same steel frame as its newly unveiled naked sibling but its subframe has been lengthened and made tougher for coping with the extra load of a pillion as well as luggage. With its 20-litre fuel tank brimmed, the V-Strom 800DE weighs 230kg, while seat height is a relatively tall 855mm.
The Suzuki V-Strom 800DE comes with a custom 5-inch color TFT LCD multi-information screen with night and day modes. It comes with a USB port, and hexagonal LED headlight, position lighting, tail-light and turn signals. The motorcycle features Hitachi Astemo (SHOWA) inverted front forks with 220mm wheel travel and SHOWA mono-shock rear suspension. It has dual front disc brakes with 310mm to offer good stopping power and control.
The motorcycle features the wire-spoked and semi-blocked patterned 21-inch front and 17-inch rear Dunlop wheels. It has a short windscreen with 3-step height adjustment. The V-Strom 800DE comes equipped with Suzuki Drive Mode Selector (SDMS), Suzuki Traction Control System (STSC) with the introductory G (Gravel) mode, Ride-by-wire Electronic Throttle System, Bi-directional Quick Shift System (with On/Off settings), Two-Mode Antilock Braking System (ABS), Suzuki Easy Start System, and Low RPM Assist.
