Ghanpur Station MLA Kadiyam Srihari and his daughter Kadiyam Kavya joined Congress today in the presence of Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and the party’s state in-charge Deepa Das Munshi.
Recently, BRS offered the Warangal MP ticket to Kadiyam’s daughter Kavya. Despite securing the ticket, the father-daughter duo decided to leave BRS to join Congress. Either of them will contest as Congress’s MP candidate from Warangal.
Kadiyam is a prominent leader in the Warangal region. Earlier, he worked as a state cabinet minister under TDP’s regime. After Telangana’s formation, he jumped into BRS and served as the Deputy Chief Minister. Now, he is ready to serve the Congress.
Another prominent leader, K. Keshava Rao, is poised to join the Congress party soon. On the other side, Keshava Rao’s daughter, Hyderabad Mayor Gadwal Vijaya Lakshmi, has already joined the Congress yesterday.
The departure of veteran leaders like Keshava Rao and Kadiyam Srihari proved to be big blows for BRS ahead of the Lok Sabha elections.
