PM Modi's Unexpected Choice Of Food

Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently engaged in an interview with Tamil channel Thanthi TV, addressing a variety of issues.

This interaction is perceived as part of his extensive outreach efforts ahead of the 2024 Lok Sabha Elections, although Modi dismissed any political agenda behind his recent visits to Tamil Nadu.

In a lighter moment, Modi shared that Upma is his favorite Tamil food. Usually, everyone says Idly or Dosa, so it was surprising when PM Modi said he liked having Upma. He said he also likes Pongal as it is light on the stomach and easily gets digested.

This sparked a friendly rivalry among food enthusiasts, with Upma lovers celebrating the Prime Minister’s preference over Idly. Additionally, Modi Idlis, priced at ₹ 10 for four pieces and named after him, gained popularity in Salem, Tamil Nadu, a few years ago.

On a more serious note, Modi discussed several key topics. He defended the electoral bond system. Additionally, he commended the Enforcement Directorate’s actions for recovering funds amounting to Rs 2,200 crore.

Acknowledging the presence of capable individuals within the Congress, Modi critiqued dynasty politics, stressing the importance of democratic values within families. He also noted public support for the BJP, aiming for an ambitious goal of securing 400 seats.

Lastly, Modi praised the Tamil language as the oldest in the world and criticized the politicization of language. He hinted at his amicable relations with former Tamil Nadu CM Jayalalithaa and accepted the underlying tensions between the AIADMK and BJP.
