The image of a police officer in India is often associated with fear. But a video is going viral on the internet in which a number of police officers can be seen trying to save themselves from an angry mob. The video is from a village in Telangana where local people targeted police when it came to resolve a land based issue.
In the Chandrapalem Village in Telangana, the law and order situation worsened when conflict arose between two groups. The locals made a claim on a piece of saline cultivation land while some non-locals also made a similar claim.
Police were sent to resolve the issue but the villagers got angry and chased and assaulted the policemen. 10-15 officials were present at the scene when the incident took place. An investigation is going on to find the culprits behind.
The police also suspect that there might be a conspiracy behind it as only the circle officer was targeted by the mob. The video of the violence is going viral on the internet. The viral video is not good for the image of Telangana police as people rely on them for their safety.
