Friday started off with a real jerk for residents of New Jersey and parts of New York as a mild earthquake caused nervousness among the public.
The news spread quickly, and several Indians started inquiring about the safety of their families and relatives living in these areas.
“A 4.8 magnitude earthquake hit west of Manhattan and has been felt throughout New York. My team is assessing impacts and any damage that may have occurred, and we will update the public throughout the day,” tweeted New York Governor Kathy Hochul.
Luckily, there were no major disruptions or loss of infrastructure as it was a mild earthquake. There are rumors that the earthquake was felt in other states like Maryland and Delaware, but this has yet to be confirmed.
