Leaders Online Desk: A massive landslide occurred in Arunachal Pradesh on Thursday. This washed away part of the highway bordering China. It was the only road connecting the Dibang Valley district to the rest of India. According to preliminary information, the landslide caused extensive damage to the road along Roing Anini Highway between Hunli and Anini. India Todaysaid in a report.
It has been raining heavily in Dibang Valley for the past few days. The resulting landslide washed away a large section of Highway 313 between Hunli and Anini. Teams have been sent to clear the highway.
Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu has expressed concern over the incident. The highway between Hunli and Anini has been severely damaged causing inconvenience to people. This road connects the Dibang Valley with the rest of the country. “Instructions have been given to restore contact with this area as soon as possible,” he said in a post on X.
Landslides have occurred due to continuous rains. In an advisory issued to the residents of Dibang Valley, the district administration said that the repair work on Roing Anini Highway will take at least three days.
