NEW DELHI: Lucknow Super Giants skipper KL Rahul on Tuesday failed to make the cut in India’s 15-man squad for T20 World Cup.
With Rishabh Pant and Sanju Samson included in the side as designated wicketkeeper-batters, the selection committee was left with no room for Rahul in the squad.
To make matters worse for Rahul, he was not even considered in reserves players’ list featuring Shubman Gill, Rinku Singh, Khaleel Ahmed and Avesh Khan.
Soon after the squad was announced, social media came out in support of Rahul and leading the way was Rahul’s Indian Premier League franchise Lucknow Super Giants.
After Rahul’s axe, the franchise posted on their social media handle that the keeper-batter remains No.1 for them despite not being considered for Team India.
