Jagran correspondent, Ranchi. At present the weather will remain bad. People are not going to get respite from the heat in recent days. The scorching sun will shine for four days. According to the forecast issued by the Meteorological Center, Ranchi, there is no possibility of major change in the maximum temperature in the capital and surrounding districts for the next four days.
Alert issued regarding heat wave
The sky will be clear and the weather will be dry till May 4. The effect of heat wave will be seen at some places in the state. The Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert regarding this.
Light rainfall occurred at isolated places in the state in the last 24 hours. The highest rainfall of 3.4 mm occurred in Mazgaon in West Singhbhum. The effect of heat wave was seen at some places in Godda and Pakur.
The highest maximum temperature of 44.3 degrees Celsius was recorded in Godda, while the lowest minimum temperature of 22.8 degrees Celsius was recorded in Seraikela.
Greenery is shrinking in Ranchi
The maximum temperature of the capital Ranchi was recorded at 39.6 degrees and the minimum temperature was 24.9 degrees Celsius. Greenery is continuously shrinking in the capital Ranchi.
Meanwhile, the rising levels of pollution and the growing concrete jungles amid development in the city have increased the temperature of the city.
In Ranchi, the heat is more in the areas where population, vehicles and tall buildings are more and there is less greenery. Among these, places like Main Road, Upper Bazaar, Hindpiri, Ratu Road, Circular Road, Piska Road, Kokar, Doranda etc. are getting hotter.
Emission of greenhouse gases has increased due to pollution. Surface waters have dried up due to heat. Due to which the process of cloud formation has slowed down.
We have to stop exploiting natural resources. On this basis, the effect of heat wave can be reduced. Reservoirs in cities and rural areas will have to be revived. The area of decreasing greenery will have to be reduced. Only then can we save our future generations from the havoc of heat – Nitish Priyadarshi, Environmentalist, Ranchi.
Apart from the increase in temperature due to continuous cutting of trees, adverse situations like soil pollution, drying up of water sources, loss of micro elements from the soil are also coming to the fore. 15 to 20 years ago the temperature in Ranchi never went above 28 degrees Celsius. But human error has disturbed the balance of the environment – Dr. Shalini Lal, Department of Agriculture, DSPMU
