Rinku Singh after losing his wicket (X.com)
Rinku Singh is one of the finest hitters of the cricket ball and according to many, he will be one of India’s biggest assets with his finishing skills in T20 World Cup 2024. The selection for the marquee event is just around the corner, and though Rinku performed well for India whenever he got an opportunity, he has not been at his best in IPL 2024.
The southpaw has scored just 123 runs in 8 innings and also threw away an opportunity to impress against DC after his promotion to number 3. Rinku scored just 11 off 11 balls. The left-handed batter walked out to the middle with KKR in comfortable position in their 154 run-chase. Rinku hit one boundary as well but in a bid to hit one out of the park, he ended up losing his wicket.
It came on the second delivery of the 10th over when Lizaad Williams bowled a short delivery on the middle stump line. Rinku Singh tried to pull it but got a big top edge that was caught safely by Kuldeep Yadav at third man.
Rinku Singh is still one of the favourites to make it to India’s squad due to his consistent performances over the course of last year and it would be a surprise if his name does not feature in the 15-member squad for the all-important T20 World Cup.
