The fourth-generation Maruti Suzuki Swift is set to hit Indian roads on May 9, 2024. Prior to its official launch, we have got our hands on its clear images, feature upgrades, mileage figures, and specifications. According to the latest information, the new 2024 Maruti Swift model lineup will be available in five trims: LXi, VXi, VXi (O) (a new trim), ZXi, and ZXi+. The hatchback will also feature two new exterior colors: Novel Orange and Lustre Blue.
The current-generation’s ten paint schemes will be carried forward, including Pearl Arctic White, Pearl Metallic Midnight Blue, Pearl Metallic Lucent Orange, Solid Fire Red with Pearl Midnight Black, Solid Fire Red, Pearl Arctic White, Pearl Midnight Black, Pearl Metallic Midnight Blue, Metallic Silky Silver, Metallic Magma Grey, and Pearl Arctic White with Pearl Midnight Black.
The most significant change is the introduction of an all-new 1.0L, 3-cylinder Z-Series petrol engine, replacing the existing 4-cylinder K-Series engine. The new engine with mild hybrid technology produces 81.6PS and 112Nm of torque and has a mileage rating of 25.72kmpl. The existing 5-speed manual and AMT (Automated Manual Transmission) gearboxes will be carried over from the current generation. According to leaked information, Maruti Suzuki has increased the rear suspension travel by 26mm, likely enhancing handling and performance on rough roads.
The interior layout and features will be inspired by the Fronx compact crossover. The new Maruti Swift will feature a 9-inch SmartPlay Pro+ touchscreen infotainment system, Suzuki Connect connected car technology, a wireless phone charger, Type A and Type C USB ports, an Arkamys sound system, and rear AC vents. All variants of the new Swift will come with six airbags.
Bookings for the new Maruti Swift have already begun. The new-generation hatchback will likely be priced higher than the current one, which ranges from Rs 6.24 lakh to Rs 9.82 lakh (ex-showroom).
