The fourth-generation Maruti Swift was recently launched in India, priced within the range of Rs 6.49 lakh – Rs 9.56 lakh, making it nearly Rs 25,000 – Rs 37,000 more expensive than before. However, the updated prices are justified by the improved styling, more features and the more fuel efficient 1.2L, 3-cylinder petrol engine. Suzuki’s new Z-Series engine is claimed to deliver a mileage of 25.75kmpl with the AMT and 24.8kmpl with the manual gearbox. Its power and torque outputs stand at 82bhp and 112Nm, respectively.
Interestingly, the same new petrol engine will power the next-generation Maruti Dzire that’s slated to go on sale in the second half of 2024 (possibly near around Diwali season). With the new powertrain, the compact sedan will get more frugal than before. In fact, its carbon footprints will also be reduced by up to 12 percent. The new Dzire will continue to come with the manual and AMT gearbox options.
Besides sharing the engine, the new 2024 Maruti Dzire will share some of its design elements and features with the all-new Swift hatchback. It will receive a bigger, floating 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system with smartphone connectivity, wireless phone charger, cruise control, rear AC vents, steering mounted controls, new seat upholstery, an updated instrument cluster, rear camera, push button start/stop and power adjustable and folding wing mirrors.
The safety kit of the new Dzire will also be upgraded to include standard six airbags. It will also come with the ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors, Isofix anchors, hill start assist and electronic stability control. Similar to the new Swift, the next-gen Dzire could be offered in new exterior colour options.
Underpinning the modified Heartect platform, the new 2024 Maruti Dzire will come with a larger and newly-designed front grille, tweaked bumpers, a clamshell bonnet, new alloys and revised doors and pillars.
