New Maruti Fronx Delta+ (O) Variants Launched – Prices, Features

Maruti Suzuki Fronx, the compact crossover from the Indo-Japanese automaker, has completed its first successful year in the country. The model achieved one lakh sales milestone within 10 months of its market arrival, making it fastest cars to achieve this feet. Earlier this year, the company introduced the Fronx Turbo Velocity Edition with 16 accessories worth Rs 43,000.

Now, the Maruti Fronx model lineup expanded with addition of two new variants – Delta+ (O) MT and Delta (O) AGS – priced at Rs 8.93 lakh and Rs 9.43 lakh, respectively. All mentioned prices are ex-showroom. Compared to the Delta + variants, the new Delta+ (O) variant is nearly Rs 15,500 more expensive.

The new Maruti Fronx Delta+ (O) variant offers some additional safety features, justifying its premium pricing. The new variant comes with the side and curtain airbags and a tyre repair kit. Though, it misses out on the spare wheel. The rest of the feature list remain intact that includes a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity, voice assistant features, Over-the-air updates, USB and Bluetooth connectivity, 4-speaker sound system, electrically adjustable wing mirrors, steering mounted controls, automatic LED headlamps with DRLs and 16-inch alloy wheels.

Engine options available with the new Maruti Fronx Delta+ (O) are 1.2L, four-cylinder petrol and, 1.0L, three-cylinder turbo petrol. Both motors are offered with mild hybrid tech. The naturally aspirated gasoline unit delivers 100bp with 147.6Nm and the Boosterjet motor offers 90bhp and 113Nm. Transmission choices include a 5-speed manual, a 5-speed AMT and a 6-speed torque convertor automatic.

In other fresh updates, the Maruti Fronx is ready to receive its first mid-life update next year. Interestingly, it will be the first Maruti Suzuki model to feature the brand’s its own strong hybrid tech – codenamed HEV. With this upgrade, the compact crossover will become more fuel efficient. The carmaker will introduce its new strong hybrid tech to its mass-market models including Baleno, Swift, and Brezza.
