Telugu Desam Party MLA from Palakollu – Nimmala Ramanaidu is the best-performing MLA in the state. His simplicity and accessibility to the people make him very special. That is the reason why he comfortably won in 2019 even when the Jagan wave engulfed the entire state.
Ramanaidu won with a whopping 18,000 votes majority in 2019.
In 2019, it was a three-way contest with the Janasena candidate getting 33,000 votes. Kapu community is very dominant here and the alliance with Janasena helped big time.
When compared to the entire state, it was a different situation in Palakollu this election season.
To defeat Ramanaidu, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy banked on money power, and welfare schemes.
Gudala Srihari Rao is the YSR Congress candidate here.
However, Srihari Rao struggled to give minimum competition to Ramanaidu in this election. Sources say that he did not campaign at all in the constituency and also did not distribute money as well.
It is interesting to note that Srihari Rao is into the Aqua business and is a money bag but did not spend due to a lack of confidence in the victory.
A nominal amount has been distributed by TDP here. Some of the families in the constituency even refused to accept money from Ramanaidu knowing his financial condition and due to the Goodwill, he has.
It looks like Ramanaidu is going to hit a hat trick for sure with an increased majority.
The talk in the constituency is that Ramanaidu is going to be in Chandrababu’s cabinet for sure if TDP wins.
