Tata Harrier Petrol, Harrier EV Launch In 2025

The Tata Harrier SUV is currently available with a 2.0L turbo diesel engine, offering both a 6-speed manual and a torque converter automatic gearbox. This engine delivers a claimed power output of 173bhp and 350Nm of torque. To boost sales, the automaker is planning to expand the SUV model lineup with petrol variants, scheduled to go on sale early next year. The Harrier petrol will feature an all-new 1.5L turbo direct injection engine, producing 170PS and 280Nm of torque. This same powertrain is set to debut in the Tata Curvv, which is expected to hit showrooms during the 2024 festive season.

The automaker will also introduce the electric iteration of the Tata Harrier in early 2025. The electric SUV has already been seen in its close-to-production form. Similar to the Punch.ev, the Harrier EV will be built on Tata’s new Acti.EV platform, supporting multiple battery packs and three drivetrain setups – FWD, RWD, and 4WD. It will also feature vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) and vehicle-to-load (V2L) charging capabilities. The Acti.EV architecture will utilize 400 volts along with permanent magnet synchronous motors and induction motors in the future.
