Hypertension Awareness Programs Held In Zunheboto

DIMAPUR — In accordance with a directive from the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare to observe a month-long celebration of World Hypertension Day, an awareness programme-cum-screening camp was conducted by the Health department at Mapulu Village Community Hall in the Akuluto block of Zunheboto on May 19.

According to an update, it was themed ‘Measure your blood pressure accurately, control it, live longer,’ and speaking on the occasion, Dr. N. Mhonchan Kithan, district programme officer (NCD), encouraged the people to reduce the intake of salt, maintain a healthy diet, opt for more physical activity and go for regular blood pressure checkups.

Furthermore, Kithan informed the public about the availability of hypertension treatment services at the Health and Wellness Centre (HWC) Lotisami.

The update stated that the medical team at Mapulu screened and treated over 46 beneficiaries. The event was attended by the community health officer and staff of HWC Lotisami, mobile medical unit staff, ASHAs, and village council members.
