The headlight costs ₹ 28,653. Imagine having to pay ₹ 60,000 for a pair of headlights just because your DRLS turned yellow.

Warranty Claims
Steering rack/ gear – Some faint noises came from the suspension while ascending and descending on ramps, taking U-turns, etc. The majority would never even notice the noise. But me being me, I asked the SA to check for the same during the 3yr/ 45000 Kms service in Jan 2024. They diagnosed it to be the steering gear and placed the order for the same. After some follow-ups, the steering gear arrived in late February. Took the car to the service centre on 1st April for the replacement. The SA who was looking after my car until now had left in March. The new SA assigned to my car had no idea about all this. He said that they will have to reprocess the warranty and it will take 2 days for the same. In the evening he called to inform me that the warranty had been denied due to a change in tyre size. I mentioned that the tyres were replaced on 30th March ( 2 days ago) and the car was very much on stock tyres when the steering gear issue was observed and an order for the same was placed in January 2024. After some escalation, the warranty was approved by Skoda and the car was delivered to me the next day.
Needless to say, the noise has all disappeared. The car feels as tight as day one. The alignment was slightly off so I decided to get it re-done at my regular tyre shop equipped with a Hunter aligner instead of sending the car back to the service centre.
The old steering gear.

This thing costs ₹ 13,290. Consider this to be a 20K job with labour, consumables and alignment if done out of warranty.
LHS Headlight Assembly – Both my DRLs had turned slightly yellow ( more prominent on the Left side). I requested my SA to make a warranty claim for both of them. Skoda approved the warranty for the Left headlight but denied the warranty for the right side claiming it was perfect. I didn’t argue much. There is a colour difference in the DRLs of both headlights. Will need to send the car back again to claim a warranty for the right-side headlight. Sheer waste of time and resources. Causes inconvenience to both the customer and the service centre.
The front bumper was removed to replace the headlight.

Gear slotting issue – The first and the reverse gears don’t engage smoothly at times. There is some resistance 3 out of 5 times. The service centre bled the clutch but it doesn’t seem to have made any difference. The car was released under observation. Will take it up during the next visit.
