BJP’s political ads have significantly influenced 61% of urban Indians to vote for them, according to a recent YouGov report.
The report reveals that 76% of urban Indians have encountered political advertisements related to the 18th Lok Sabha Elections, while 14% have not.

Of those who have seen political ads, 81% noticed ads from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). In comparison, 47% saw ads from the Indian National Congress (INC) and only 12% from the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP).
Millennials (Born in the 80s) were particularly likely to see Congress ads, with 53% reporting exposure.

YouTube emerged as the top platform for political ads, with 67% viewership, followed by TV at 58%. TV viewership was especially high among millennials and Baby Boomers (60+ age group).
Instagram was another popular platform, with 43% viewership, followed by WhatsApp (38%) and Meta (35%).

BJP’s ads were not only the most widely seen but also considered the most creative by 58% of urban Indians, compared to 28% for Congress and 6% for AAP.
When it comes to ads that resonate with viewers, BJP leads again with 60%, followed by Congress at 27% and AAP at 5%.
Moreover, 61% of urban Indians reported that BJP’s ads influenced their voting decision or changed their mind about voting for another party. In contrast, 27% said the same for Congress, and 10% for AAP.
Resonance with Congress ads was higher among millennials, with 37% indicating they were influenced by the party’s ad campaigns to vote for them.
