Nissan X-Trail India Launch In 2 Months

The launch of the Nissan X-Trail in India has been uncertain for years. Dismissing all rumors, the Japanese automaker unveiled the X-Trail SUV alongside the Qashqai and Juke in October 2022. In fact, the X-Trail and Qashqai were even spotted testing in the country. However, no further developments have occurred since then. Surprisingly, a recent media report indicates that Nissan will launch the fourth-generation X-Trail in India by June or July 2024. It will make its way via the CBU (Completely Built-Up Unit) route and will be sold in limited numbers under the government’s new homologation policy.

Interestingly, the new Nissan SUV will be introduced only with the 1.5L, 3-cylinder turbo petrol engine that produces 204bhp and 305Nm. The motor will be paired with a CVT gearbox. There will be no mild hybrid or strong hybrid (Nissan’s e-Power) powertrain on offer. However, the report states that Nissan might consider the X-Trail hybrid for India at a later stage.
