NEW DELHI: Rajasthan Royals cricketer Shimron Hetmyer has been fined 10 percent of his match fees for breaching the IPL Code of Conduct during the Qualifier 2 match against Sunrisers Hyderabad at the MA Chidambaram Stadium on Friday night.
“Hetmyer committed a Level 1 offence under Article 2.2 of the IPL Code of Conduct. He admitted to the offence and accepted the Match Referee’s sanction. For Level 1 breaches of the Code of Conduct, the Match Referee’s decision is final and binding,” stated an IPL release on Saturday.
In the match, Rajasthan Royals’ captain Sanju Samson chose to bowl first after winning the toss. Sunrisers Hyderabad posted a total of 175/9, thanks to a blistering half-century from Heinrich Klaasen.

In their reply, Rajasthan struggled against the spin duo of Shahbaz Ahmed and Abhishek Sharma, who played a crucial role in restricting the Royals’ scoring rate. The pacers complemented the spinners’ efforts, keeping Rajasthan’s batters in check.
Rajasthan ultimately fell short, managing only 139/7 and suffering a 36-run defeat.
With this victory, Sunrisers Hyderabad have advanced to the final of the ongoing edition, where they will face Kolkata Knight Riders at Chepauk on Sunday.
