West Indies won the second match of the pre-World Cup T20I series against South Africa by 16 runs. Along with this, they have captured the series by taking a 2-0 lead in the three-match T20I series.
Batting first, West Indies scored 207 runs for the loss of 7 wickets. Chasing a target of 208 runs, South Africa could only manage 191 runs for the loss of 7 wickets.
Roston Chase led the West Indies innings
West Indies got off to a poor start. The first wicket fell on 26 runs. Skipper Brandon King also went to the pavilion on 54 runs. He scored 36 off 22 balls. Roston Chase then took the innings forward with a 36-ball 56-run partnership with Andre Fletcher for the fourth wicket and then a 63-run partnership with Romario Shepherd for the fifth wicket to take the team to 200 in just 25 balls.
Chase played an unbeaten knock of 67 off 38 balls. Scored his first half-century in T20Is. Andre Fletcher scored 29 off 18 balls while Romario Shepherd scored 26 off 13 balls.

The West Indies captain won the toss and elected to bat first.
Enrique Norcia proved to be expensive
Enrique Norcia, returning from a back injury after nine months, was costly. He conceded 47 runs in 4 overs, but failed to take a single wicket. Lungi Ngidi took 2 wickets for 32 runs in 4 overs and debutant Nakabayomji Peter took 2 wickets for 32 runs in the match.
After a good start, South Africa’s innings collapsed
Chasing a target of 208 runs, South Africa floundered after a good start. Openers Quinton de Kock and Reza Henrique started the innings well. Both shared a partnership of 81 runs for the first wicket. Quinton de Kock was dismissed for 41 off 17 balls. Riza Henrique also went to the pavilion on 83 after Cock was dismissed. He scored 34 runs off 18 balls.
After the dismissal of Quinton and Henrique, South Africa were reduced to just 84 for 5. After these two, only Rassie van der Dusen could score 30 runs in 22 balls. From West Indies, Gudakesh took 3 wickets giving 22 runs in 4 overs.
