BRS Plans Three-Day State Formation Day Festivities

HYDERABAD: The BRS has announced a three-day celebration of the Telangana State Formation Day from June 1 to June 3, with party president and former chief minister K. Chandrashekar Rao on Monday calling on party leaders and workers to take part in the events.

The party, in a news release on Monday, said the celebrations will begin on June 1 with a tribute at the Telangana Martyrs Memorial at Gun Park opposite the Legislative Assembly, followed by a candlelight rally till the Amara Jyoti memorial opposite the Secretariat in the evening. On June 2, the 10 years of state formation will be celebrated at Telangana Bhavan, the party headquarters at Banjara Hills, which will be led by Rao. On the same day, party leaders and workers will distribute sweets and fruits to patients at hospitals and orphanages in the city. On June 3, the concluding ceremonies will be held at all BRS offices in the state.

According to the release, Chandrashekar Rao said the credit for Telangana statehood and the state emerging as a role model for others went to the BRS and called on all party workers to participate in the celebrations enthusiastically.
