Tata Motors’ Future Plan For India – Full Details

Tata Motors is one of the leading OEMs in India, consistently dominance in the electric vehicle (EV) segment. In the financial year 2023-24, the indigenous automaker registered a YoY (Year-on-Year) growth of 6 percent with total sales nearing 5.73 lakh units of passenger vehicles. It aims to surpass the 5 million PV sales milestone in the coming years. To further strengthen its market position, the company plans to invest in product and platform development, electrical and electronic architectures, and vehicle software.

In an interview with a media publication, N Chandrasekaran, Chairman of Tata Motors, said that the company’s focus will also be on improving product quality and enhancing customer experience. In the EV sector, Tata plans to maintain its lead with a range of new models packed with high-tech features, along with improving its charging network.

Tata Sierra EV Design

Earlier this year, Tata Motors introduced its new Activ-ev (advanced connected tech intelligent electric vehicle) platform with the Punch EV. This new architecture will underpin all upcoming mass-market EVs from Tata across multiple sizes. It’s claimed to focus on maximizing efficiencies of space and energy consumption, along with providing flexibility in battery pack size, vehicle size, type of drivetrains, and charging capabilities.

The automaker has already announced its plan to have 10 EVs in its product portfolio by 2025. Currently, the company sells Tiago.ev, Tigor.ev, Punch.ev, and Nexon.ev. The all-new Tata Curvv electric coupe SUV launch has been scheduled for this year’s festive season, which will be followed by the Harrier EV, Safari EV, and Altroz EV in 2025. The Tata Sierra EV is also one of the much-awaited upcoming new Tata EVs, expected to hit the roads in 2025 or 2026. We saw the model in its concept form at last year’s Auto Expo.
