I wanted parking brakes which the Aerox lacks, as I’ve missed it on certain occasions.

I was due for my fourth free service at the one-year mark, but the service center did not call to remind me, so I missed the mark.
I still wanted to get the bike serviced since I needed a reason to visit one of the sellers I had previously bought stuff from (the repair parts mentioned above). He just opened his Aerox-specific service garage in Jogeshware West, Mumbai (near Lotus Petrol Pump), and I really wanted to get a seat upgrade and headlight upgrade done. I was also put off by how busy the service center had gotten lately, so I needed to get a good mechanic outside of the service center. This fits my requirements, so off to service.
Talking about the service first, I got the service done at 4,800-ish km and 1.1 yr from purchase. The seller/mechanic mentioned I don’t strictly need to get it serviced right away since the bike looked to be in decent shape, but there were some vibrations that I wanted to be looked into, so I went ahead. Total service cost came out to be ₹1,900 (excluding the Genma levers), with this breakdown:
The biggest line item is the Genma lever for the brakes, which is a new upgrade I did to my Aerox. I wanted parking brakes which the Aerox lacks, as I’ve missed it on certain occasions. Bonus points, these brake levers are also adjustable. Here are some pics:
I would consider this as an optional upgrade, especially given the cost. The product is pretty good, but I don’t think most people need it.
Unfortunately, the aux lights that I wanted to install were not in stock when I visited. The mechanic had installed them for a bunch of Aerox owners in Mumbai, and I really liked the discreet and hidden look. I only need them for a dark patch of road near my home, nothing more, so I don’t want them to attract attention the rest of the time. I will probably visit again once the lights are back in stock.
For my seat upgrade, there was a custom seat ready that I could take in a swap deal + cash, but I did not like the design. I did like the added comfort from the padding and the slight curve (the front end plateaus instead of continuing to slope down like the stock seat) which kept me in position rather than slipping forward. The design was too tacky for my taste. I want to go for a more stealthy and understated look for the seat, similar to the stock (just with better cushioning and shape). I will probably have to visit a custom seat maker to get this done, but I know most of them would ask me for designs to be “inspired” from, and I haven’t yet spotted anything modest and classy enough.
I am advised that I don’t particularly need to get another service till the oil light in my Aerox blinks (at the 4,000km mark since reset?), but I’ll likely keep up the regular servicing. The bike is still a joy to ride, and I want to maintain it with the same love and care.
