Maruti Dream Editions To Be Priced Rs 4.99 Lakh; Bookings Open

The small car sales have been declining sharply in the Indian automotive market. However, Maruti Suzuki, the country’s largest passenger vehicle manufacturer, believes that the demand for small cars is likely to return in the next 2-3 years with economic growth, increased affordability, better income levels, and no significant impact of new regulatory regulations. To improve sales of its entry-level small cars, the Indo-Japanese automaker is ready to launch the new affordable ‘Dream Series’/ Dream Editions of its three popular vehicles, namely – Alto K10, Celerio, and S-Presso.

The Maruti Alto K10, Celerio, and S-Presso Dream Series will be limited editions that will go on sale on 4th June 2024 (i.e., tomorrow). Bookings for the limited series have already commenced across the nation. Considering the market response, the company will decide whether to extend the limited offer beyond the month of June. The new Maruti Dream Editions will offer some additional features over their regular counterparts, including an improved infotainment system, a reverse parking camera, and a few more.

Pricing will be the major attractive point of the upcoming Maruti Dream Series, set at Rs 4.99 lakh. Partho Banerjee, Senior Executive Officer of Marketing & Sales at MSIL, said that the RTO registration charges increased in multiple places at Rs 5 lakh; therefore, the price figure is fixed at Rs 4.99 lakh. He further stated that the prices of the AGS/AMT variants of its 9 models, including Alto K10, Celerio, S-Presso, Wagon-R, Swift, Baleno, Dzire, Ignis, and Fronx, have been reduced by Rs 5,000. This price cut will surely attract buyers looking for automatic variants.

Recently, the company introduced the fourth-generation Maruti Suzuki Swift, which has managed to gather 40,000 bookings since its market arrival. Prices of the hatchback’s all-new model lineup start from Rs 6.49 lakh and go up to Rs 9.64 lakh (all, ex-showroom).
