Venugopal Reddy, who was a faculty member in the Telugu department, was appointed as the Registrar on July 15, 2021. On Tuesday evening, Venugopal sent his resignation letter via email to the Vice-Chancellor, Prof K. Madhu Jyoti. He then called the VC and requested that his resignation be accepted, according to sources. Venugopal Reddy was appointed as the Registrar during the tenure of the YSR Congress government. Notably, his resignation came on the same day that the YSRC suffered a defeat in the recent elections.

The resignation of the varsity Registrar, who was appointed during the YSRC government’s tenure, immediately after the election results has sparked a debate. It is being speculated that the change in government may have played a role in Reddy’s decision to step down from his position.
