Kalki: 2898 AD is set to be the biggest film of the year, boasting a massive budget, an all-star cast, and huge box-office potential. Initially, the project struggled to generate buzz, but the release of the prelude animated series ‘Bujji & Bhairava’ on Prime Video has sparked renewed interest in the film.
Trade analysts expect this Prabhas-starrer to have a record-breaking opening at the box office.

With the recent change in government, the Telugu film industry might see favorable conditions for new releases.
Under the previous administration led by YS Jagan, the industry faced challenges with ticket price hikes and special show permissions.

However, with the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) now in power and the film’s producer, Aswini Dutt, being a close associate of the new Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, the scenario is expected to improve.
The new government is likely to be more generous in granting permissions and ticket hikes.

As a result, Kalki: 2898 AD is anticipated to surpass the records set by SS Rajamouli’s RRR (2022).
RRR had a first-day gross of 70 crores and a lifetime collection of around 230 crores in Andhra Pradesh. Prabhas’ previous film couldn’t beat these records due to low ticket prices imposed by the old government.
But with Kalki: 2898 AD, a record release with maximum prints and hiked ticket prices is expected.
This could finally give Prabhas a shot at surpassing the collections of Rajamouli’s film.
