The Monsterverse Box Office has a new Alpha when it comes to worldwide collections. Godzilla X Kong: The New Empire has officially dethroned Kong: Skull Island to become the highest-grossing movie in the franchise. Earning a humongous 570 million in domestic as well as international markets, the movie has not just become the highest grossing monsterverse movie by surpassing the 568 million mark of Kong: Skull Island; it has also become the second highest grossing Hollywood movie of 2024 after Dune: Part Two, dwarfing many movies in its wake.
The movie has earned more than 196 million in the USA alone. Certainly not too far from the domestic collection of 2014’s Godzilla, which had a massive earning of $200 million. The marketing and distribution were managed by WB. They turned the expected mediocre estimates into a legendary 80 million opening over the Easter weekend. Despite the clashes with movies like Monkey Man, GXK kept trampling through, leaving a trail of shattered records behind.

The Titanic team-up has proven to be a titanic success. Far surpassing its $135 million budget. Essentially, it revives the cinema going experience.
