Hectic Efforts On for Swearing-In Event Tomorrow

Vijayawada: Arrangements are being made at a fast pace for the swearing-in of the CM-designate Nara Chandrababu Naidu and his Cabinet on Kesarapalli IT Park grounds on Wednesday.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will attend the event as chief guest along with several other senior politicians.

As per a tentative schedule, the PM will leave Delhi by a special flight at 8.20 am and land at Vijayawada Airport at 10.40 am. He will proceed to the venue and participate in the swearing-in ceremony from 11 am to 12.30 pm. The PM will be back at the airport at 12.40 pm and fly to Bhubaneswar by 12.45 pm.

Along with the PM, Union ministers Amit Shah and Rajnath Singh are also expected to attend the event.

Chief Secretary Neerabh Prasad reviewed the arrangements with senior officials here on Monday. He said tight security arrangements will be in place for the event.

Earlier, transport principal secretary P.S. Pradyumna, who is coordinating the arrangements for the ceremony with other departments, visited the venue along with the senior officials.

Huge LED screens at the venue will show the live telecast of the swearing-in ceremony to an estimated one lakh people. The people across the state will also be able to watch the live telecast.

Supply of drinking water, buttermilk packets, snacks and other essentials as also sanitation arrangements will be organised. All these arrangements, as well as security personnel, would be in readiness from Tuesday evening.

“Expeditious completion of the works for the approach roads from the vehicle parking places is envisaged. Easy access from the airport, veterinary college, Medha Towers and petrol bunk to reach the main venue of the event will be ensured,” the senior official said.

Some chief ministers from other states too would be arriving for the swearing-in event. Trouble-free movement of their convoy of vehicles would be ensured. Electronic surveillance of vital installations would be arranged too, he said.

Plans are also to set up a health camp for those who might require such a facility at the venue.
