New Mahindra XUV700 Soon Get A New Automatic Variant

Mahindra’s one of the top-selling XUV700 SUVs model lineup is set to receive a new automatic variant in the coming weeks. According to a fresh media report, the automaker will introduce a new MX automatic variant with a 5-seat configuration and both petrol and diesel engine options. The Mahindra XUV700 MX 5-seater is currently available with a 6-speed manual gearbox option and a 7-seat layout. The new MX automatic variant is expected to be priced around Rs 1.80 lakh more than its manual counterpart, which costs Rs 14 lakh.

In other fresh updates, the Mahindra XUV700 will undergo its first mid-life update towards the end of this year or early next year. The updated model, currently in its initial testing phase, is expected to be renamed Mahindra XUV 7XO. Mahindra will use the same nomenclature strategy as it did with the Mahindra XUV300 faceliftintroduced as the XUV 3XO.

The Mahindra XUV700 facelift is anticipated to receive minor changes both inside and out, while its engine setup is likely to remain the same. The SUV currently comes with two engine options: a 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder, turbo-petrol Mahindra mStallion, and a 2.2-litre, 4-cylinder mHawk turbocharged motor. The former delivers a peak power of 200bhp and 380Nm of torque, while the latter offers two states of tune – 115bhp with 360Nm for lower variants and 185bhp with 420Nm (MT)/450Nm (AT) for higher variants.

There are four drive modes – Zip, Zap, Zoom, and Custom – reserved for the diesel variants, which are claimed to adjust steering response and performance. Both petrol and diesel engines are available with 6-speed manual and 6-speed automatic gearboxes. However, the lower diesel variants are offered with a manual gearbox only. The Mahindra XUV700 is also available with an AWD drivetrain setup.
