Hyundai Inster Small Electric SUV Unveiling On 27th June

Hyundai has released the first teaser of its all-new, entry-level electric SUV, set to premiere on June 27, 2024. Called the Hyundai Inster, the model will make its public appearance at the Busan International Motor Show 2024 in Korea. The event is scheduled to be held from June 27 to July 7. It will be a mass-market EV that will first go on sale in South Korea, followed by the European markets.

The official teaser shows the silhouette of the upcoming Hyundai Inster EV featuring a new Pixel lighting setup, similar to what we have seen in the Ioniq 5. It appears to be a slightly stretched version of the Hyundai Casper with a few unique design elements. However, the round headlamp clusters and LED DRLs are carried forward from the Casper. The new Hyundai EV will have a charging port at the front end.

New Hyundai EV

Powertrain details of the Hyundai Inster EV are still under wraps, but the company has confirmed that its new small electric car will deliver a range of 315 km on a single charge.

As of now, there is no official word on its India launch. Hyundai Motor India aims to expand its BEVs (battery electric vehicles) product portfolio with a range of new models. The automaker has already announced its investment plan of Rs 26,000 crore for its Chennai facility. The fund will be used for production capacity expansion, new models, and battery pack localization.

Hyundai Inster Electric

Earlier reports suggest that Hyundai will introduce new EVs based on the all-new platform under its “Smart EV” project. India will serve as the production hub for the new, affordable Hyundai EV for export markets. Meanwhile, the South Korean automaker is preparing to launch the Creta EV in early 2025. Its production will begin towards the end of this year. In India, the Hyundai Creta EV will compete against the upcoming Maruti Suzuki eVX and Tata Curvv EV.
