Skoda Auto introduced the Kushaq Onyx Edition with cosmetic enhancements and additional features in March, 2023. Based on the base Active trim, the model was initially offered only with the 115bhp, 1.0L turbo petrol engine and a manual gearbox. Now, the Skoda Kushaq Onyx automatic version has been rolled at Rs 13.49 lakh (ex-showroom). It uses the same 1.0L TSI gasoline unit (114bhp, 178Nm) with a 6-speed torque convertor automatic gearbox.
The Skoda Kushaq Onyx Edition features grey graphics on the doors and chrome surrounds on the front grille. The faux diffuser on the front bumper, ‘Onyx’ badging on the B-pillar and newly-designed 16-inch steel wheels with plastic covers further differentiate it from the regular model. Inside, the Kushaq Onyx edition has ‘Onyx’ badging on the scuff plates and headrests, chrome surrounded AC vents, two-spoke steering wheel and dashboard with textured pattern. Unlike the regular model, it has black and grey interior theme.
When it comes to features, the Skoda Kushaq Onyx Edition offers all goodies available on the entry-level Ambition trim. It comes with a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system, 6-speaker audio system, automatic climate control with an air purifier, height adjustable driver’s seat, a rear wiper with a washer, fog lights and LED headlights. As far as safety is concerned, the mid-size SUV offers dual front airbags, tyre pressure monitoring system, electronic stability program, three-point seatbelts for all passengers and Isofix anchorages.
In the mid-size SUV segment, the Skoda Kushaq takes on the cars like the Hyundai Creta, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Kia Seltos, Toyota Hyryder, Volkswagen Taigun and MG Astor. Prices of the SUV start from Rs 11.99 lakh for the base variant, and go up to Rs 20.49 lakh for the top-end trim. All mentioned prices are ex-showroom, Delhi.
In other fresh updates, Skoda plans to launch a new subcompact SUV in India in 2025.
