Renault Duster had a cult following in India ever since its launch in 2012. However, the SUV was discontinued in 2022 due to new emission norms and long-running poor sales. Now, the French automaker has decided to revive the Duster brand in the country. The third-generation model of the Duster will be introduced here, followed by its three-row version. The Renault Duster 7-seater SUV, based on the Dacia Bigster concept, will make its global debut towards the end of this year. Let’s take a look at the key details of the upcoming 7-seater SUV from Renault’s stable.
CMF-B Platform
Similar to its 5-seater counterpartthe Renault Duster 7-seater will be built on the CMF-B platform. This modular architecture will be used for the brand’s multiple future products and is compatible with advanced driving aids and connectivity technologies. Renault says that the CMF-B platform has interchangeable components, making it adaptable for different markets and customers’ requirements across the globe.
Sharing Design Elements
The Duster 7-seater SUV will share most of its design elements and features with its 5-seater sibling. However, it will be nearly 300mm longer and have more cabin space to accommodate an extra row of seats. Since the CMF-B platform supports advanced driving aids, it could be equipped with autonomous driving assistance systems (ADAS) along with a host of new features. India Launch
There is no word from Renault on its India launch timeline. However, the Renault Duster 7-seater SUV is expected to hit showrooms in the second half of 2025, with an estimated price range of Rs 14 lakh – Rs 18 lakh (ex-showroom). The 7-seater Duster will compete against the Tata Safari, Hyundai Alcazar, and MG Hector Plus. Maruti Suzuki and Toyota’s upcoming 7-seater SUVs will also provide tough competition to the Duster.
