Flexi Board on Farmer’s Field Raises Min’s Hackles

Kamareddy: The Nizamabad District Cooperative Central Bank (DCCB) officials set up a flexi board and a red flag in the agriculture field of a farmer at Polkampet village in Lingampet Mandal on Friday, proclaiming him a crop loan defaulter.

The board warned people not to buy the land, which it said was mortgaged with the cooperative bank. The victim borrowed money in 2010 and was unable to repay it.

Usually, cooperative bank officials issue notices to the defaulter and collect the dues. If the dues remain unpaid, they go for an open auction of the property.

Local farmers expressed shock over the cooperative bank putting up the board. Agriculture Minister Tummala Nageswara Rao expressed anger at the bank officials. The bankers explained that they issued several notices to the farmer, who was trying to sell the property.

The minister warned officials against setting up flexi boards in the fields of defaulting farmers. He directed them to submit a report on the incident.
