Central, State Ministers Hold Review Meeting in Srikakulam

Visakhapatnam: Union civil aviation minister K. Ram Mohan Naidu, agriculture minister Kinjarapu Atchannaidu and several MLAs met in Srikakulam on Tuesday and discussed the pending issues of north Andhra.

Atchannaidu, in his opening remarks, called upon public representatives and officials to work together and move forward towards developing Srikakulam district. In particular, action should be taken to ensure that the government provides effective services to the public, he said.

The agriculture minister assured that everyone who comes to his office will be comfortably seated and sent only after completing their work.

In this context, he maintained that every Monday, a redressal programme will be taken up at the Mandal level, so that people’s problems can be solved. To improve sanitation in the district, panchayat and municipal offices should conduct a special drive for the next week, he said.

Atchannaidu wanted seeds and fertilisers to be fully available to farmers.

Promising to complete the Vamsadhara project early, he asked officials to clear the bushes, so that water reaches the last acre of land.

Taking cognisance of silver stolen from transformers of lift irrigation projects in the district, he ordered officials to take immediate action against such thieves.

On his part, civil aviation minister Ram Mohan Naidu congratulated legislators who got elected recently.

Narasannapeta MLA-elect Baggu Ramanamurthy said in the name of Jala Jeevan Mission, the previous government had taken up works. Yet, the Narasannapeta constituency is not getting fresh water and sought an inquiry.

Palasa MLA-elect Gauthu Sirisha said land grabbers have occupied the hills in Palasa constituency and action should be taken against them.

Pathapatnam MLA-elect Mamidi Govinda Rao wanted action against people trying to encroach on the land belonging to the Pathapatnam RTC bus stand.

Etcherla MLA-elect N. Easwara Rao said that managements of units in the Paidi Bhimavaram industrial area should provide more job opportunities to locals.

Srikakulam MLA-elect Gondu Shankar asked authorities to work hard and meeting the immediate requirements of farmers during the current agricultural season.

Vizianagaram MP-elect Kalisetty Appalanaidu and Legislative Council member Vepada Cheeranjeevi were present at the meeting.
