The highly anticipated sequel Pushpa: The Rule featuring Allu Arjun, Fahadh Faasil, and Rashmika Mandanna, has now set its release date for December 6, 2024.

In the US, Pushpa 2: The Rule will premiere on Thursday, December 5, 2024, making it an excellent release date for overseas markets.

There are no major Hollywood releases scheduled until a week after its release, allowing the film to have a strong presence on IMAX and PLF screens worldwide for at least one week.

While the makers also considered the December 20 date, they decided to prioritize a wide overseas release and skip the holiday plans.

This decision was made to avoid the competition posed by three major Hollywood movies that would have dominated the theaters during that period. By choosing December 6th, they managed to avoid an estimated revenue loss of $5-6M in the US market.

The only competition ‘Pushpa 2’ will face is from ‘Mufasa’ and ‘Sitaare Zameen Par’, as Akshay Kumar’s ‘Welcome To The Jungle’ has already been postponed from its Christmas 2024 release.

Additionally, there are speculations that Aamir Khan might run away from the clash like he did with ‘KGF 2’ and ‘Laal Singh Chaddha’, which were initially set to release on the same date.

If ‘Pushpa 2’ receives a positive response from the audience, it has the potential to reach the 800 crore worldwide gross figure by the time ‘Mufasa’ releases on December 20.

Last year, ‘Animal’ created a sensation not only in India but also at the US box office when it released during the same period (December 1).

In a way, the postponement from the original August 15th date to December 6th might prove beneficial for Allu Arjun.

Currently, things are not going in his favor due to the election controversy, leading to heavy negativity and a lack of support from Mega fans.

This delay provides Allu Arjun with more time to address these issues. He can potentially meet Pawan Kalyan and resolve any conflicts, thus regaining the support of the Mega family.
