Tata Harrier EV AWD Spotted

Tata Motors has confirmed launch timeline of its two upcoming electric SUVs – the Curvv EV and the Harrier EV. While the former is slated to hit roads near around 2024 festive season, the latter one will arrive this fiscal year. Recently, a test mule of the Tata Harrier EV wearing heavy camouflage was caught on camera. The fresh spy images show that the electric SUV features rear-mounted electric motor hinting it will come with the AWD (all-wheel drive) system. There will be two electric motors fitted on each axle.

Official specifications of the Harrier EV are still under the wraps. However, it’s reported to come with a battery capacity of 60kWh and offer a range of around 500km on a full charge. Tata had confirmed that the electric SUV will support vehicle-to-load (V2L) and vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) charging capabilities. That means, it will be able to transfer power to another vehicle and to any load.

Tata Harrier EV Range

The design of the forthcoming Tata Harrier EV will be slightly different from its ICE counterpart. It will feature a closed-off grille, newly-designed front and rear bumpers and alloy wheels. The revised central air intake will have blanked-off panel. Some of its other design highlights include ED badges on the fenders, black cladding, flush door handles and revised taillamps with a new LED light bar running its width. The Harrier EV will underpin the Acti.ev platform that debuted with the Punch EV.

When it comes to interior, the electric Harrier will offer a large touchscreen, a new twin-spoke steering wheel, a new central tunnel with rotary dials for selecting drive modes, a touch panel for AC vents and many more goodies. Similar to its ICE version, the electric SUV is likely to come with the ADAS suite.

The Tata Harrier EV prices are expected to start from Rs 30 lakh for the entry-level variant. Once launched, it will take on the MG ZS EV and the upcoming Mahindra XUV700 EV.
