Earlier this year, MG Motor and JSW Group announced a joint venture named ‘JSW MG Motor India Private Limited’. Under this partnership, the company plans to introduce a new car every three to six months starting September 2024. The British automaker will also focus on expanding its electrified product portfolio with pure EVs and plug-in hybrid variants. The MG Cloud EV is one of the upcoming electric offerings from the brand that’s slated to go on sale in the second half of 2024. It’s a compact electric MPV measuring nearly 4.3 metres in length with a wheelbase of 2,700mm.

In select global markets, the MG Cloud EV offers 37.9kWh and 50.6kWh battery packs, promising a range of 360km and 460km, respectively. It has a permanent magnet synchronous motor, placed at the front axle, producing power worth 134bhp.

The MG Cloud EV has a minimal design theme inside the cabin featuring a large touchscreen infotainment system, a digital instrument cluster, a reclining front seat with sofa mode with 135-degree backseat recline, a 360-degree camera and ADAS tech. The minimalistic design treatment continues on the exterior. The electric MPV features full-width LED light bars at the front and rear, headlamps mounted on the bumper, and flush door handles.

MG Motors India will also introduce the updated Gloster three-row SUV towards the end of this year. Minimal changes are expected to be made inside and out. Upfront, the SUV will feature a more angular nose with a larger grille finished in satin black, a two-layer headlamp setup and faux air inlets finished in a contrasting shade. There will be more cladding across the body with a contrasting matte black finish, slightly tweaked taillamps, a revised rear bumper and a few more plastic bits on the tailgate. The new 2024 MG Gloster facelift will continue to derive power from the existing 2.0L turbo diesel engine and come with the 4X2 and 4X4 drivetrain system.
